What is polarization?
Ordinary sunglasses only reduce the amount of visible light entering the eye. Polarizing a lens is the process of adding a polarizing film to a lens.
The polarizing film consists of microscopic horizontal lines that act as a filter to block out light bouncing off horizontal reflective surfaces such as sea water.
This reflected light is 7 to 10 times brighter than ambient light and is commonly referred to as glare.
If you eliminate reflected glare, the remaining light falls in a narrow range of intensity allowing your eyes to relax and enjoy greater depth perception and true color contrast. Everything looks richer and more intense.
